History

Nā Lei Aloha Foundation was formed in 2004 under the guidance of Her Holiness Keishu Shinso Ito as a way for the Shinnyo-en Buddhist Order to contribute to the Hawaiʻi community. Beloved kupuna Aunty Malia Craver gave Nā Lei Aloha its name, which means “many lei of embracement”, with a wish for the Foundation to help make Hawaiʻi a better place by bringing people together in cooperation and harmony.
